EPMD is an American Rap group who rose to fame upon the released of their debut album, Strictly Business.

About

EPMD was formed in Brentwood, New York in 1987. The original members are Erick Sermon and Parrish Smith. They both grew up in the long island suburb of Brentwood.


The duo released their single, Its My Turn in 1987. They signed a recording contract under Fresh Records. The duo released their debut album, [Strictly Business]] Fresh Records. It went Gold. Their second album, Unfinished Business went Gold also. After the released of their second album, they signed a recording contract under Def Jam and released their albums, Business As Usual and Business Never Personal in 1992. A year later, the duo split out to concentrate their solo career. However, last March 2007, it was announced that they are doing new album, We Mean Business.
