[edit] Early Life

RnB singer Dwele (Andwele Gardner) came from Detroit Michigan. At the age of 10 years old, Dwele started writing songs. He grew up listening to Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder. Dwele studied music for a year. In 1998, a demo tape called The Rize was a hit on the radio. He started spending his time working with Slum Village and rapper Bahamadia.

Dwele signed in with Virgin Records and released his debut album, Subject, in 2003. He won majority of the European audiences. It was followed by an extensive tour. In 2005, his sophomore album, Some Kinda, came out.
