Diana Degarmo was the second place finalist on the third season of the top rating television series American Idol. Her single, Dreams peaked at number 2 spot of the Billboard Charts. Diana is now currently at a Broadway musical play, HairSpray which will last until February 2007.

Diana Degarmo was born on June 16, 1987 in Birmingham, Alabama. As early as 10 years old, Diana has already been singing publicly, including at the 1997 Georgia Music Hall of Fame Awards. She was also cast in stage productions of Annie and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in Atlanta. When she was in grade 3, Diana became a Coca-Cola kid during the Atlanta Summer Olympics. In Christmas of 1998, she sang at Opryland, USA. Diana won the title Miss Teen Georgia in 2002 and was a finalist on the NBC talent search program America's Most Talented Kid.
Diana was a finalists of the third season of the phenomenal hit reality talent search television series American Idol and the youngest among them at age 16. Diana was the runner up of Fantasia Barrino who won the grand champion. Diana was a junior at Snellville's Shiloh High School when she decided to join American Idol.
Diana released her first single, Dreams on 2004 which reached the number two spot of the Billboard Charts. Her debut album, Blue Skies was released on the later part of 2004, her album sold 47,000 copies on the opening week alone and reached the number 52 spot in the Billboard Chart.
In 2005, Diana played the role Maria in the American Musical Theatre of San Jose production of West Side Story. In the early part 0f 2006, Diana made her Broadway debut as Penny Pingleton in the musical Hairspray at the Neil Simon Theatre in New York City. The show runs for 3 months. Diana played the lead role as Brooklyn in the 2006 national tour of Brooklyn, The Musical from June 11, 2006 in St. Paul, Minnesota until August 13, 2006 in San Jose, California which gain positive reviews. Diana has recently returned to her role as Penny in the musical Hairspray on Broadway and will lasts until February 11, 2007.
