[edit] About
Destiny's Child is consist of the group Beyoncé Knowles, LaTavia Roberson, Kelendria "Kelly" Rowland, and LeToya Luckett. The quartet made its recording debut on 1997 with a self titled album, Destiny's Child where "Killing Time" a track of the album was included on the soundtrack of the blockbuster movie "Men in Black". This started the group's break out success where several singles followed after as their second "Bug A Boo" and third "Say My Name" was a massive hit that spotted at number one both on the pop and R&B charts for three weeks that made the quarter a musical icon.
However, at the peak of Say My Name's popularity, relations strained. In December 1999, LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett attempted to split with group. And when the video for "Say My Name" premiered in February 2000 many fans were surprised to find two new members - Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin.
After the next Destiny's Child single, "Jumpin' Jumpin'", hit the Top Ten and incidentally after five months of joining, Farrah Franklin split with the group for missing out several promotional appearances. They became a trio after that, and released a few more albums before disbanding in 2005.
