Australian singer Dean Geyer is the third placer of the contest American Idol 2006. He was the first contestant who was officially accepted by the American Idol into the top 100.

About
Australian Idol contestant, Dean Geyer, was born on March 20, 1986 in Johannesburg, South Africa. At the age of 15 years old, he moved to Melbourne, Australia and attended Melbourne High School for boys. Geyer is also a black belt holder in martial arts which he earned when he was 13 years of age. In his teens, music became a big part of his life. His first composition was entitled "Change", it talks about him parting ways with his family and living in Australia. He auditioned for Australian Idol during its fourth season comeback. Geyer impressed all three judges making him the favorite in the fourth season. Although he won the hearts of the judges, the viewers voted him off placing him at third place. After Australian Idol, SonyBMG instantly offered Geyer a contract. His debut album, Rush, was issued on 2007.
