De La Soul Is Dead is the second album of Grammy-award winning hip-hop group De La Soul. On 1998, the album was selected one of the 100 Best Rap Ablums on the Source Magazine.

De La Soul Is Dead was released on May 13, 1991 by Tommy Boy Records. The album spawned several singles including "Millie Pulled a Pistol on Santa", "Ring Ring Ring (Ha Ha Hey)", "A Roller Skating Jam Named Saturdays", and "Keepin' the Faith".


The Score Magazine listed the album as one of the top ten albums of all time. Though it received mixed reviews from critics, they stated that a "true a genius is hardly understood".
