About

Alternative rock band Days Of The New formed on 1995 in Charlestown, IN. The band moved to Louisville, KY. The line-up of the band is Travis Meeks (vocals, guitar, songwriter), Jesse Vest (bass), Todd Whitener (guitar) and Matt Taul (drums). Days of the New got the attention of Scott Litt, producer of R.E.M. He signed the boys to a new record label called Outpost.

In 1997, Days Of The New released their self-titled debut album. The singles "Touch, Peel and Stand" and "The Down Town" was aired on MTV and won the crowd’s attention. The following year, the band became an opening act for Metallica tour. During this time, issues rose and rumors of the band breaking up began. The band split when Meek kicked off everyone of the members excluding Taul. In 1999, the release of their sophomore album which was still self-titled came out but failed. Meek continued to work on the third album which was again self-titled. The album however was successful. The combination of rock made it all possible.
