About
Dave Matthews Band also called as DMB was originally composed of singer, songwriter ang guitarist Dave Matthews; Steffan Lessard on bass; Leroi Moore, who plays a wide variety of instruments from the saxaphone to the flute; Boyd Tinsley on electric violin; Carter Beauford on drum; and Peter Grieser on drum. All of them was met by Dave in Virginia. The band was formed in 1991 at Charlottesville, Virginia.
Since the early 80's, the band has established huge followers through their relentless tours. Before the released of their independent LP, Remember Two Things on 1993, Peter left the band. In 1994, DMB signed a recording contract under RCA Records. They released their first album, Under The Table and Dreaming on that same year. Their next album was Crash, which was released in 1996. It was a huge success. It was the band's best selling album.
In 1997, they have become more popular across the country and internationally. They had released live albums. They had released their third album, Before These Crowded Streets which they released in that same year. In 2001, the released of their next album was not that great success already. Like other bands, their popularity was becoming to fall down.
The band has lie low from recording scene but continues to tour worldwide. In 2004, they had released a compilation and live albums. In the fall of 2004, the band returned to Virginia with a new producer. They released their next studio album, Stand Up in 2005.
In January 2007, it was announced that they are already recording their seventh studio album, which is due to released in July of that same year.
