Considered to be the first rock super group to become superstars, Cream is a British rock band who rose to fame in the 60's. Eric Clapton was one of the founding members. One of their instant hit albums is, Fresh Cream, which was released in 1966. Cream, together with The Who, made a significant impact upon the popular music of the time providing a heavy yet technically proficient musical theme.

Cream was formed on 1966 at London, England by Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker. Eric was a former member of The Yardbirds. Jack and Ginger has been a member of Graham Band Organization, a British R&B combo. Jack was also a one-time member of Bluesbreakers with Eric.

In 1966, Eric met Ginger, the leader of the Graham Bond Organisation. The two met after the performance of The Yardbirds where Eric was that time a member of the band. Ginger asked Eric to join his new group; Eric agreed on a condition that Ginger will also hired Jack as their bassist. Eric met Jack when they became members of Bluesbreakers.

In 1966, the band released their debut album, Fresh Cream which reached number 6 at the UK charts. It features the singles, Four Until Late, Rollin and Tumblin, Spoonful and Cat's Squirrel. The other songs, was composed by Jack. In 1967, they released their second album, Disraeli Gears and became number 5 in the charts. the album was the first Cream album to consist primarily of original songs, with only three of the eleven tracks written by others outside the band. It includes in this album, Sunshine of Your Love which was the band's most popular song.

In 1968, their third album, Wheels of Fire was released and reached the American charts. In 1969, their final album, Goodbye was released. In November 1968, they decided to parted ways due to their clashing egos and different musical visions.

In 1993, the Cream was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2005, original members of the Cream were reunited for a series of four shows in England at Royal Albert Hall in London. The tickets were sold out. Among those who watched the reunion concerts are Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr of The Beatles, Steve Winwood, ;;;Roger Waters of Pink Floyd, Brian May of Queen and Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin. In February 2006, they received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
