Courtney Jaye is an American singer who rose to fame via her hit single "Can't Behave" which also appears in the soundtrack of the movie Aquamarine.

Courtney Jaye was born on November 1, 1980 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. When she was young they moved in Atlanta. It was here that she become to love music. She learned to wrote a song when her friend passed away.

After graduating from High School, she transferred to Flagstaff, Arizona. She worked as an accupunturist and starting performing in local clubs. Courtney went to Kauai, Hawaii and planned to stay there for one month. She ended up staying there for a whole year, writing songs and surfing.

Courney returned to mainland U.S.A. and moved to Athens, Georgia, where she continued composing songs. From Georgia, she again transferred to Austin, Texas where she learned to play guitar and perfected her vocal. When she felt that she was already ready entering music industry, Courtney decided to go to Los Angeles. She sent a demo of a track entitled Lose My Head to his friend and manager Russel Carter'. Russel was impressed and he immediately signed Courtney a recording contract to start working on her debut album.

Courtney released her debut album, Traveling Light on June 7, 2005 under Island Records. The song "Can't Behave" became a radio hit.
