Coko is an American Urban Gospel singer famously known for her stint as the lead vocalist of the 90's commercially successful group, SWV.
Born Cheryl Gamble on 13 June 1974 in Bronx, New York, Coko started out as a choir member alongside future bandmates, Tamara "Taj" Johnson, and Leanne "Lelee" Lyon. The trio formed a group, SWV in the 90's where they enjoyed success in every album until they disbanded by 1998.
Coko decided to move on and embark on a solo career. She returned to her spiritual roots and a year after the group disbanded, she released her debut album, Hot Coko. By 2006, her sophomore effort was released. Grateful ranked number 5 in the Billboard Gospel chart.
