About

Early Years

Born Earnest Clay Walker, Jr. or simply Clay Walker on Aug. 19, 1969 in Beaumont, Texas where he was raised by his father Earnest Clay Walker, Sr and Danna Bush together with his younger sister Kimberly.

His love for music flourished in the early years of his life when his father brought him his own guitar. At that point, he was aware that he wanted to lead a life of a musician. At age 16, he brought a demo tape to a local radio station, though the Dj said it wasn't possible to play his tape, he still heard it over the airwaves for the first time as he was driving away from the station. And that's just 6:00 in the morning!

Career

Before he officially entered the country music scene, he became the mainstay singer at a local club in Beaumont. His voice, guitar and charm lead him to be noticed by producer James Stroud who helped him get a stint under Giant Records that was based on Nashville.

His self-titled debut album was released in 1993 and was certified Platinum by the RIAA. His evocative voice and outstanding stage presence never failed to impress his fans; thus propelling the start of his commercial career.

His follow-up album in 1994 entitled If I Could Make A Living was selling hot like pancakes as well and gained a Platinum Certification as well. 1995's release Hypnotize The Moon includes chart topper "Who Needs You Baby" and this album completed his grand slam for the Platinum Certification.

It has been 14 years of great country music and more than 10 albums and compilations that this perky singer has released but he still continues to fill the airwaves with beautiful songs full of heart and passion.

His latest album release was in April 17, 2007 entitled Fall.
