Chuck Berry is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He rose to fame when his single Maybelline reached the billboard charts. He was even named by Rolling Stone Magazines one of the greatest guitarists of all time.

Chuck Berry was born on October 18, 1926 at St. Louis, Missouri. He was third child in a family of six. Chuck was raised in Ville. His father was a contractor and a deacon of a Baptist church.

His middle-class situation allowed him to pursue his ambition to be a singer at an early age. He used to performed on stage while still in high school.

In 1955, Chuck went to Chicago, he called Leonard Chess of 'Chess Records and signed a recording contract. In September 1955, Chuck released his single Maybellene which reaced number five on Billboard charts. He released his debut album in 1958.

Chuck has made more than ten successful albums. He was even been given by Grammy Awards the Lifetime Achievement Award in 1984. Chuck was among the first musicians to be inducted into the Rock an Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.

In 2003, The Rolling Stone Magazine has choosed him as one of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. He was number six. In 2004, six of his songs namely Johnny B. Goode, Maybellene, Roll over Beethoven, Rock and Roll Music, Sweet Little Sixteen and Brown Eyed Handsome Man was included in Rolling Stone Magazines as the Greatest Songs of All Time.
