Christopher Cross was the biggest new star of the 80's, defining adult contemporary radio with a series of ballad albums including the chart topping "Sailing" which won for him 5 Grammy Awards including Best New Artist and Song of the Year.

Christopher Cross was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 3, 1951.
Christopher began his music career when he became a member of the cover band Flash. He signed his solo contract with Warner Bros. in the autumn of 1978. His self-titled debut Album was released in 1980, with the lead single, "Ride like the Wind" peaked to the number two spot. His next single, "Sailing" became a smash hit and make Christopher an instant superstar. In his next two singles, "Never Be the Same" and "Say You'll Be Mine" reached the top 20 hits. Christopher had a record-setting five Grammy's in 1981, including Best New Artist and Song of the Year for "Sailing".
Christopher's single, "Best That You Can Do" which he co-wrote with Burt Bacharach, Carole Bayer Sager and Peter Allen was the movie theme song of Arthur which won for him an Academy Award for Best Theme Song.
His second album, Another Page was released in 1983, but only one single, Think of Laura hit the top ten charts, the album failed to repeat the success of its debut album and never returned to top 40. His album, Every Turn of the World was not even noticed on its released in 1985, and when 1988's Back of My Mind did not hit the chart, he was dropped by Warner Bros.
His next album, Rendezvous was released in 1993 under the label of BMG followed by the 1995 released of the album, Window. In 1998, he signed a recording contract with CMC International releasing his album, Walking in Avalon which is a two-disc split between new studio material and live recordings of his past hits. Christopher released his album, Red Room in 2000. In addition, that so far was his last studio album.
