Chris Young is an upcoming American Country singer and a songwriter who rose to fame via the Country Music singing competition Nashville Star. His first single Drinkin Me Lonely was a hit.

Chris Young was born on the year 1985 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was the grandson of Richard Yates. He begin his singing career when he was still in grade school, he used to joined children's theater production. He loves to listen to country music.

Chris studied college at Belmont University in Nashville and he transferred in Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. He began performing at Cowboy's in Arlington, Texas. One of his fans encouraged Chris to audition for the Nashville Star TV show. He went to Houston to audition and luckily, he passed it.

On May 2, 2006, Tody was declared the winner of the 4th season of the Country music reality television singing competition Nashville Star.

After winning the competition, he immediately signed a recording contract under RCA Records in which his first single, Drinkin Me Lonely became hit.

On October 3, 2006, his first self-titled album was released, reaching at number 3 on the Billboard Country charts.
