In the last nine years, singer/songwriter Chris Rice, has become one the most well-known in contemporary Christian music today. His true passion in life is to connect with youth students and help guide them into the relationship that Christ desires to have with them. His album, Smell the Color 9 was the most successful one.

Chris Rice was born on Maryland, USA with a three brothers and parents who owns Christian Bookstore. As a child, Chris was obviously involved in the gospel industry because his parents and other adult mentors provided a backbone to his Christian faith.
Chris Rice took piano lessons when he was a child, Chris used his musical talents to lead retreats and youth camps in his church youth group and into his college years at the University of Maryland where he took up Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Communication.
Chris Rice send several demo tapes on recording companies but Rocketown Records was the one who caught his attention, he was the first artist who signed a recording contract with them. Chris released his debut album, Deep Enough to Dream on 1997. His next album, Past the Edges followed a year later.
His next album, Smell the Color 9 was released in 2000 and it is one of his most successful album. In 2001, Chris surprises his fans with a two piano instrumental album, The Living Rooms Sessions and The Living Room Sessions: Christmas that highlighted his other side of musical and arranging talents. These albums were recorded in his own living room grand piano.
In 2003, he released his next studio album, Run the Earth.. Watch the Sky which contains all new songs. In 2004 Chris released his two compilation album, Short Term and Memories which contains all his greatest hits such as, "Deep Enough to Dream" "Clumsy" and "The Cartoon Song" as well as three new singles. Another compilation album was released on 2005, Snapshots which includes six live performances and another two previous hit singles, "Nothin'" and "Me and Becky." His ninth album, Amusing was released in 2005. His latest album, What a Heart Is Beating For was released last July 17, 2007.
