Chantal Kreviazuk is a Canadian pop singer. She was also included in the opening ceremonies of the 16th International AIDS conference last year 2006.

Chantal Kreviazuk was born on May 18, 1973 in Winnipeg Canada. At the age of three years old, Chantal taught herself how to play the piano. She started writing her own songs at the age of 19 years old. Chantal went to the University of Manitoba. In 1994, Chantal was in an accident that broke her leg and shattered her jaws. The motor accident resulted to her debut album, Under These Rocks and Stones.
In 1996, Under These Rocks And Stones was released under Sony Music. Chantal wrote 13 singles in the album. All of the singles gave a positive energy. The album did not get much attention. In 1998, Chantal released the hit single, “Leaving On A Jet Plane”. The single was included in the film Armageddon. It was an appearance on the Late Night With Conan O’Brian where she got the recognition she deserved. In 1999, her follow-up album, Colour Moving And Still, was a success. Chantal started touring intensively. Later that year, she also married Our Lady Peace’s Raine Maida. She also received a Juno Award for Female Singer of the Year.
