About

Born Damian Beckett, or more popularly known as Cham or Baby Cham, was born on and raised in Kingston, Jamaica in 1977. He grew up with his uncle and became interested in music through him, his uncle owned a sound equipment in a studio where popular dancehall Dj's like Super Cat recorded songs.

In 1994, he met the dancehall virtuoso and hit producer Dave Kelly, but Dave refused to work with Cham until he finished his school. Spragga Benz however, has worked with Cham and recorded a duet called "Cocomania" in the same year.

After graduating, he finally ran after his dream of being a music artist. Cham easily teamed up with Dave and became one of the premier artists on Kelly's Madhouse record label as he began to penetrate the US market in the early 2000's.

Cham released his double album [[Wow.. The Story] ] in October 24, 2000, which includes his singles, "Many Many" and the controversial single entitled "Boom", a song referring to oral sex. Because of the issues that "Boom" created, the song was banned from being performed live within Jamaice.

His big debut album, entitled Ghetto Story was released in August 2006 which also featured some of the big names in Rnb including Alicia Keys and Akon.
