Carl Thomas is an African R&B singer from Illinois. His famous songs are "I Wish" and "Emotional". He was also nominated for Grammy Award along with Chaka Khan, Yolanda Adams, and Gerald Levert.

Carl Thomas was born on June 15, 1972 in Aurora, Chicago, Illinois. He moved to New York to start his music career. Thomas starting performing during opem-mike night at clubs. In 1997, Sean "Puffy" Combs was impressed by his performance and signed him in with Bad Boy Records. He is featured in a number of other fellow artists such as Notorious B.I.G., Noreaga and R. Kelly.
Carl Thomas' single "I Wish" was being confused by Stevie Wonder's version. In 2000, he released his debut album, Emotional, under Bad Boy Records. In 2004, he released his follow-up album, Let's Talk About It.
