About
New York hip hop artist Cage (Christian Palko) was born in Wurzberg, Germany. Cage’s father was an MP in the American military based in West Germany. His family was discharged for using and selling heroin. At the age of 4 years old, the Murray family moved to Middletown, New York. Cage’s father continued to use heroin and left them for another woman. Cage was a troubled teenager. He got kicked out from his high school. His stapfather would beat up Cage and he started using drugs. Cage was sent to his uncle’s home, a Vietnam veteran.
At the age of 16 years old, Cage was arrested for street fights and drug charges. Violating his probation, Cage did his time but ended up in the Stony Lodge Psychiatric since his mother convinced the judge that he was mentally unstable. At the Lodge, Cage was made a guinea pig for the new drug called Prozac that made him suicidal. He was being held back by wearing a straightjacket. The only thing Cage could do was use his imagination and started composing raps. He was released and christened himself Alex.
In 1992, Cage released his debut single, “Rich, Bring ‘Em Back” followed by “Agent Orange” which was included in the film A Clockwork Orange. Cage became a member of a hip hop crew, The Smut Peddlers. In 2001, they released their first album, Porn Again. The following year, the hip hop artist released his solo debut album, Movies For The Blind. It was followed by Hell’s Winter in 2005. The album featured a new Cage who stopped using drugs.

Cage means business in his music from his lyrics to the beats. He has potential in composing songs by using his traumatic past. Cage’s tracks are intense and surprising. -Mimi 08:00, 22 June 2007 (PST)
