[edit] About
By the Way is an album released by The Red Hot Chili Peppers on July 9, 2002, by Warner Bros.
When released, the album reached #2 on the Billboard Top 100, and was a smash hit in many countries. By the Way is the Chili Peppers' most melodic album to date. Because of the change from funk-rock to pop-rock, the album was disliked by some fans. During the recording of the album, the group was feeling some tension, as guitarist, John Frusciante played a major role in recording and writing many of the songs.
