About

Buddy Jewell was born on April 2, 1961 at Osccola, Arkansas. Both of his parents were music lovers. Buddy was teach by his uncle to play guitar at the age of 15. He was the quarterback of his high school football team but mainly played tackle in college. He took up Mass Communication in College. However, he left college in the middle of his junior year to get married. The marriage has ended after two years. He moved to Arizona and joined the band, White Oak. Four years of touring with the band was enough and Buddy moved to Dallas, to star in a gunfight show at the Six Flags Theme Park.

In 1991, he won a talent contest sponsored by super group Alabama which landed him an opening slot for the group with Mark Chesnutt and Ricky Van Shelton. In 1995, he started a job as a demo singer. In 1996, he competed on TV's Star Search, winning male vocalist on several episodes. His success on the show inspired him to try his luck in Nashville. In 1998, he was featured on "Bill Engvall's" single, "I'm A Cowboy". He was the backup on the album of Ray Price's entitled Time.

On May 3, 2003, Buddy won the the first season of Nashville Star Country music singing contest. His single, "Help Pour Out The Rain (Lacey's Song)" was released on May 5, 2003.
