Jack Johnson's debut album has garnered critical acclaim and moderate fame for this Haiwaiian singer/songwriter. This was a big achievement since Johnson didn't think of making music a career for him.

About

This album consists mostly of pop arrangements and medium-paced acoustic-rock tracks. Johnson's mere resemblance with Dave Matthews' voice exudes with sensibility and mixed with his no-nonsense personality. His musical style is very vibrant and fresh, just like Hawaii. The single off the album, Flake is considerably one of his well-known songs. He already established a fan base touring constantly to promote his debut album. Ben Harper appears in this song playing the slide guitar.
