Boys Like Girls is a four piece rock band who rose to fame via their single, "Hero".

About
[Boys Like Girls] was formed in 2005 by "Martin Johnson". He recruited Bryan Donhue on bass and John Keefe on drums and Paul Digovanni on guitar.
They opened a Pure Volume account to show their music and uploaded a demo of their rendition of the acoustic song, "Thunder". The group reached the number 1 spot on the website 5 Top Unsigned Artist Chart. After the said feat, a record producer named "Matt Squire" called the band about a future collaboration. With the help of Matt, they record their debut album under Columbia Records.
They first released their lead single, "Hero" and in August 2006, and they subsequently released their self-titled debut album.Their second single, "The Great Escape" landed the #24 spot on the Pop 100 chart. Just recently, in July 2007, the band landed the #1 spot on the MTV Show, "Total Request Live".
