Bossanova was released on August 13, 1990 under Elektra Records.The album was a huge hit. In U.K. the album peaked at no.3 on the album chart and no.70 on the Billboard 200. The album has two hit singles "Velouria" which reached n.11 on the Modern Rock Tracks and "Dig for Fire" which ranked no.4 on Modern Rock Tracks. Both singles became a big hit in U.S. The album Bossanova was listed as one of the 1001 albums you must hear before you die.
