Bon_Iver is the name of the Indie singer Justin Vernon. His debut album, For Emma, Forever Ago was released in 2007.

Indie rock artist Bon_Iver (Justin Vernon) was born on April 30, 1981 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He was one of the masterminds of indie band, DeYarmond Edison. After the band’s break up, Vernon moved back to his home town and stayed in an isolated cabin for three whole months. He concentrated on his solo project which resulted to a debut album composed of 9 tracks. In 2008, For Emma, Forever Ago, was issued under Jagjaguwar Records. The released was followed by an extensive tour to around the US and Canada with fellow indie artist, Elvis Perkins. For Emma, Forever Ago was included in the Best of 2008 list. The following year, Bon_Iver issued an EP, Blood Bank.

- The remaining member DeYarmond Edison went on to form a new band called Megafaun and remain good friends with Vernon.
- Justin contributed a t-shirt design for the Yellow Bird Project to raise money for Interval House.

- Bon_Iver has a poetic movement in his lyrics. His songs are gloomy and intimate that comes from the heart. The song that he sings has stunning emotional impact which is beautifully executed.
