Biz Markie

Biz_Markie is a rapper who hails from Harlem, New York. Aside from being a rapper, he is also a comedian, and DJ who is best known for his single "Just a Friend."

Biz Markie was born in real life Marcel Theo Hall on March 10, 1964 at Harlem, New York. Early on his career in 1980s, he was known as one of the original artist who helped also known producer Marley Marl build a music label company named Cold Chillin' Records. Early on the record label, two well known artist was in place - MC Shan and Roxanne Shante.
When Biz Markie was included in Roxanne Shante's hit "Def Fresh Crew" on 1986, it was a breakthrough for his Markie's music career as it put the record label on the road map. It was also on the same year the Markie's first single "Make the Music With Your Mouth, Biz" was released.
Subsequently his debut album was released entitled Goin' Off which gained respectable recoginition due to the first single being included in the album. He broke on to the mainstream act one year after with a new single "Just a Friend" reached the top ten on the charts. His second album The Biz Never Sleeps was released on 1989 and went on to be certified Gold.
On his third album I Need a Haircut he was involved in a controversy and lawsuit by Gilber O'Sullivan who claimed that a track in the album entitled "Alone Again" featured an unauthorize sample from his hit "Alone Again (Naturally)." Nonetheleass, the album generated mild successes, making it to #113 on the Billboard 200 and #44 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.
All Samples Cleared! and Weekend Warrior was released as Markie's fourth and fifth studio albums respectively. In the present, he is involved in many side projects one of which is being a cast member of Nick Cannon's Wild n Out. He came on as a guest on season 1 and is now a cast member as of Season 3. Biz also does beatboxing segments on the Nickelodeon show Yo Gabba Gabba!.
