Bittersweet was released on June 24, 2003 under Arista Records. It earned a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album. The album peaked at no.8 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and no.20 on the U.K. Chart. The singles, "Make Me Wanna Scream" and "Breathe" featuring Sean Paul was a succes. "Breathe" stayed at no.1 in the U.K. 75 Charts for four weeks. The album Bittersweet is all about the unhealthy relationship that Blu Cantrell experienced in her love life. The album also features some other famous artist like Fat Joe, Sean Paul, Lil' Kim and Ian Lewis.
