Billy Gilman born William Wendell Gilman III in real life is a cross-country songwriter and singer. Born on May 24, 1988 in Westerly, Rhode Island to parents Mr. and Mrs. William Gilman Jr., he receive his first notice as a performer at the young age of severn (7) to local voice coaches.
He is a natural performer that broke out the world with his debut single One Voice, that is all about the inspiring stories that spoke the subject of the violence in the world being silenced by an ever powerful prayer. Subsequently, several albums followed - Classical Christmas, Dare to Dream, etc.
On his past times, Billy enjoys playing and watching baseball and basketball games that is of course apart from singing.

At the age of fourteen (14) when Billy made his explosive debut of his album One Voice, he made a record of being the youngest solo artist to land a spot in the Billboard Country Chart breaking several records. In less than one month Billy became the youngest artist to ever won a Gold Album.
Billy has been doing almost 90 concerts in that year but things went on the other way. From doing all those things, Billy went on to do nothing due to his changed in voice, which should be normal at his adolescent years. All concerts and tours were cancelled. So he went to Vanderbilt Voice Clinic in Nashville - one of the world's best voice centers and they advised 'no singing, no talking.' Billy was supported all throughout with family, friends, managers through following his doctor's advice. The incident turned out to be a blessings in disguised and turned out to be a good time for Billy to rest, re-group and think of his future allowing him more to be committted to music and make a comeback.

Billy Hosting his New Film. Billy will host the world premiere of his new short film on Sunday, August 13th at The Columbus Theatre in Providence Rhode Island. The doors open at noon with showtime at 12:30pm. Billy is hosting the event. Tickets are $10 at the door and can be ordered in advance at http://www.rifilmfest.org.
Billy Release Southern Star. Southern Star is from Billy's forthcoming CD 'Billy Gilman' to be released nationally on September 5, 2006 on the Image Entertainment label. The new CD, featuring special guest Pam Tillis, shows significant growth in Billy's vocal range and brings him back full circle to country music with guitar, fiddle, and steel accompaniment.
Tours & Concerts
MDA 2006 Telethon is a fund raising organization for people suffering Muscular Dystrophies. Billy as the Youth Chairman for two consecutive years will be touring on The Jerry Lewis MDA 2006 Telethon on Sunday, September 3rd and Monday, September 4th live in Las Vegas, NV. Billy will be co-hosting and times are to be announced. Make sure to check your local listings!
Holiday Escape, a pre-Christmas special presentation, Billy Gilman will be performing at the Star Plaza Theatre in Merriville, IN on December 7th, 2006.
