Billy Currington is an American Country music singer and songwriter who rose to fame via his single, Walk A Little Straighter which became an instant hit.

About

Billy Currington was born on November 19, 1973. He grew up in Rincon, Georgia. His parents were divorced when he was just only a child. After graduating from high school, he moved to Nashville to pursue his singing career. He worked in a concrete company and then part-time as personal trainer. He started submitting his recording demo tapes.

In 2002, Billy signed a recording contract under Mercury Records. In 2003, he released his self-titled debut album. His single, "Walk A Little Straighter" which he composed for his father. It is about their relationship with his alcoholic father. The song reached number 10 on the Billboards Hot Country chart. His follow-up single, "I Got A Feelin" is also an instant hit. It has reached number 5 on Country charts.

In 2004, he released a single, "Party For Two" which he duet with Shania Twain and reached number 3 on Country charts. In 2005, his second album, Must Be Doing Something Right was released. His single, "Must Be Doing Something Right" reached number 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart.
