Big L is an American hip-hop rapper also known for his punchlines in the tracks of his album Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous. He was shot several times in the head and chest and died near his Harlem home.

About

Rapper Big L (Lamont Coleman) was born on May 30, 1974 in Harlem New, York. He used rap as a get away from the ghetto life. In 1992, Big L first appeared on Lord Finesese’s remix of “Yes You May”. The following year, Columbia Records signed in the fresh rapper releasing his debut single “Devil’s Son”. It was banned on radio stations for its vulgar lyrics.

In 1995, Big L released his debut album, Lifestylez of da Poor & Dangerous. The album lacked promotion but it was an underground hit. Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous featured Jay-Z and Cam’ron. In 1998, Big L switched to Flamboyant label and joined the rap crew DITC (Diggin’ in the Crates). On Ferbruary 15, 1999, the rapper was shot near his Harlem home. The murder remains unsolved.
