About

Better Than Ezra was formed in 1988 in Louisiana. The band was originally composed of Kevin Griffin on vocals; Joe Rundell on guitar; Tom Drummond on bass and Cary Bonnecaze on drums. They are all studying in Louisiana State University. Their first performance was done at college bars and fraternity houses. They released their first debut cassette in 1990. Joe Rundell has also committed suicide on that same year.

After Joe committed suicide, the remaining members begin to part ways but at the end of 1990, they reunited as a trio. The trio moved to Los Angeles. They released their first album, Deluxe in 1993 under an Independent recording outfit, Swell Records. The band had signed a recording contract under Elektra Records, which re-released their album Deluxe. The bands single, "Good" from the album became a major hit reaching number 0ne on the Billboard Modern Rock chart. The album has sold over a million copies.

In 1996, Cary Bonnecaze left the band and was replaced by Travis McNabb. They released their next album, Friction, Baby on that same year but only reached number 64 on Album charts. In 1998, How Does Your Garden Grow was released and it was the band's last album with Elektra Records. The album did not do well on sales.

In 2001, Closer was released under Beyond Records. Their single, Extra Ordinary peaked at number 13 on Adult Top 40 chart. The album was a bit successful than their previous albums. Their latest album, Before The Robots was released in 2005.
