Beth Orton is a British singer who rose to fame via her album, Trailer Park which earned her first Brit Awards as Best New Artist.

About
Beth Orton was born on December 14, 1970 at East Dereham, Norfolk but raised in Norwich, England. When she was 11 years old, her father left her and her mother. When Beth was 18 years old, her mother died of cancer. She worked as waitress in Pizza Hut. She even owns her own catering company. At her early career, Beth is more interested in acting, she enrolled at Anna Scher Theatre School and spent some time touring Une Saison en Enfer with a fringe theatre company throughout the UK, Russia and Ukraine.
Beth debuted as one half of the duo Spill, a one-off project with William Orbit which released a cover of John Martyn's Don't Wanna Know About Evil She continued working with William on his LP Strange Cargo 3 which was released in 1993 before appearing with the group Red Snapper on their first singlesSnapper and In Deep. Beth teamed up with the Chemical Brothers for Alive:Alone in 1995.
After assembling a backing band comprised of double bassist Ali Friend, guitarist Ted Barnes, keyboardist Lee Spencer and drummer Wildcat Will, Beth finally released her debut EP album, She Cries Your Name in 1996. It was followed by her first debut album, Trailer Park in October 19, 1996 under Heavenly Records. The album sold 300,000 copies and reached number 68 at UK charts. Her full length album, Central Reservation was followed in 1999. After three years, she released another album, Daybreaker. Beth's fourth album Comfort of Strangers was released in 2006.
