About
Hip hop group the Beastie Boys began as a hardcore punk in 1981. During the 80’s, the boys were considered as ambitious goofballs. In 1986, they released their debut album, Licensed To III with the single "Fight for Your Right (To Party)". It was followed by Paul’s Boutique in 1989. The album was not recognized by the public.
During the 90’s the Beastie Boys changed their approach. In 1992, they produced an electric pop album, Check Your Head. The public embraced the album and made their way at the top of the charts. They cultivated music in the 90’s and were a big influence in the music industry. The trio MCA (Adam Yauch), Mike D (Mike Diamond) and Ad Rock (Adam Horovitz) started the band. John Berry (guitarist) and Kate Scellenbach (drummer) were soon added. In 1994, they headlined the Lollapalooza festival with the Smashing Pumpkins. In 1996, the Beasties issued Aglio e Olio which was a funk and soul jazz collection. The long awaited, Hello Nasty, hit stands in 1998. It climbed at the top of the charts. After a six-year hiatus, they boys came back in 2004 with To the 5 Boroughs. The following year, a 15-track album was released. It contained the best hits of the Beastie Boys. In 2006, they appeared in a theatrical film, Awesome: I Fuckin' Shot That! The Mix Up hit stands in 1997.

Reviews
Beastie Boys are legendary in the hip-hop scene. They have original works and it sounds great. They don’t take themselves seriously, which makes the fun. Their music is just brilliant. -Mimi 07:00, 18 October 2007 (PST)
