[edit] About
B2K was a product of a talent search held by Epic Records in Los Angeles that later on managed by Chris Stokes in 2001. Their debut single Uh Huh has introduced them to the public and yet brought the group to become instantly famous. Furthermore, the single managed to stay at No.1 in Billboard Hot 100 Singles Sales Chart for 10 consecutive weeks by January 2002. Through its success, B2K confidently launched their self-titled album in March of the same year. Same as their debut single, the album instantly became a huge hit and reached the second rank on Billboard 200, while 2 of its 17 tracks, Uh Huh and Gots Ta Be have entered the Top 40 of The Billboard Hot 100. Eventually, the album became certified Gold.
Driven by the first album's commercial success, B2K quickly followed it with Pandemonium! at the end of the year which reached number ten on the Billboard 200. Its single Bump, Bump, Bump also turned to be a massive hit and became the number one song on the Billboard Top 100. Due to its success, the sale of the album boosted up and later on achieved a Platinum status by March of 2003.
Aside from releasing a Christmas album entitled Santa Hooked Me Up in between B2K and Pandemonium! albums, they were also featured regularly on the covers of such teen magazines like Right On! and Word Up, as well as be featured on the soundtrack album for MGM's film Barbershop and You Got Served in late 2003 where two of its members appeared on the said film. They also headlined The Scream Tour alongside Marques Houston, Jhene, Mario and Nick Cannon.
Because of these accomplishments and tremendous popularity of the group, people assume that they would continue to shine more radiantly in 2004.
Until came January 2004, when Chris Stokes announced that the group had broken up. Three of its members claimed financial mishandling by Stoke's management company, T.U.G (The Ultimate Group) was the reason while Omarion and Chris Stokes denied the allegations.
Omarion himself chose to stand by T.U.G.'s side after opposing the rest of the group's allegations while CMX Chairman Antonio Demetrius Brown was handling J Boog, Raz B and Lil Fizz after the break-up.
Despite the fact that the group had disbanded, Epic Records managed to launch its Greatest Hits in March 2004.
In 2005, each of the four boys have decided to engaged on a solo projects and released their debut albums individually. Omarion has his O, Raz B (who later dropped the "B") came up with Revealer of Secrets, Lil Fizz with PayDay and teamed up with J-Boog to create their own record label called FBI.
