About

The album outsold her sister's most selling album In The Skin and debuted at number one in the charts. Three singles were released for the album and the carrier single Pieces of Me was the most successful of all. It was a hit in several countries in mid to late 2004. The singles Shadow and La La were also hits but not as successful as the first one.

Ashlee co-wrote all the songs in her debut album and described writing the songs as writing a diary. The lyrcis of her songs were primarily of love and heartbreak, and in particular it was during this time wherein she had just broken up with her boyfriend.
