About
Arrested Development was formed in 1988 at Atlanta, Georgia by Speech and "DJ Headliner". Speech real named is Todd Thomas. In 1987 he relocated in Georgia to study at the Art Institute of Atlanta. He met, Tim Barnwell, a.k.a DJ Headliner. The two decided to formed a band which they called, "Lyrical Rebellion" which they soon changed the name into, Arrested Development.
They added "Rasa Don" in the group. In 1992, they signed a recording contract under Chrysalis Records. In that same year, they released their hit debut album, 3 Years, 5 Months & 2 Days in the Life Of.... It features the singles, "People Everyday" which chartered at #8 on the US Pop Singles Chart and #2 on the US R&B Singles Chart, "Mr. Wendal" which landed at #6 on the US Pop Singles Chart and "Tennnessee". The album is a certified platinum.
Their second album, Zingalamaduni was released in 1994 and chartered at #38 on The Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart. The band decided to split up in 1996. Speech went solo and able to released a solo album in that same year. The album failed to chart. In 2000, the band decided to reunite and began to tour. The band released their comeback album, Extended Revolution in 2003 under EMI Records. After one year, their next album, Among The Trees was issued. In 2006, their latest album, Since The Last Time was released.
