Apollo Sunshine was formed in 2000. The members composed of "Sam Cohen", "Jesse Galagher" and "Jeremy Black". The three met at Berklee College of Music. Their debut album, Katonah was released in 2003 under SpinArt Records. The album contains the single, "I Was On The Moon". Their self-titled album was issued in 2005. The album was named to the Amazon.com Best of 2005: Editors' Picks in Rock list at number 5. Their next album, Shall Noise Upon was issued last August 2008 under Headless Heroes Records.

- Their song "Magnolia" has been recently featured in a Dewar's commercial.
- The band once passed out chewing gum to have the audience chomp along to the beat of one of their songs, during which playing a sample that said "there's acid in the gum." (There was no actual acid in the gum).
