About

Born Ana Cristina Alvarez on June 2, 1985 in Miami, Florida, to Cuban-American parents Rene and Teresa Alvarez. Ana Cristina showed exceptional talent at a very young age. She debuted in a local TV show, Sábado Grande at the age of 6. Afterwards, she began appearing in other TV shows and eventually landed a recording contract in Sony's International label, Sony Discos at the age of 15.


She began working with respected producers such as the founding member of Miami Sound Machine Emilio Estefan, Rudy Perez, Kike Santander and Estefano. The result of which is her eponymous debut album. Spawning the single, A Un Paso De Mi Amor where she was compared to the famous R&B singer, Mariah Carey. Her talent can be heard from popular soap opera theme songs Vale Todo and Vivan los Niños. Univision Network also took interest in her and asked her to sing the theme song for the coverage of the 2006 World Cup entitled You Can Change the World.


Ana Cristina made a name and history on January 20, 2005 by singing an acapella of The Star Spangled Banner during the inauguration of George W. Bush. She became the first Hispanic to ever sing the national anthem. That same year, Ana Cristina became the youngest member of ASCAP.


The following year, on October 6, she performed two songs in a private show at the White House in front of the President, George W. Bush, the Prince of Spain, Prince Philippe and the ambassadors from different nation.


She's now recording her sophomore effort which is an English album.

News

Ana Cristina just graduated from Miami-Dade College and performed at a special ceremony with special guest, US President George W. Bush. Aside from that, she will also be performing live at the Race for the Arts which is a 5K run in support of its programs in Palm Beach County. She will be donating 10% of her CD sales in the said cause.

  • She has a powerful 5 octave vocal range (known to have the one of the highest vocal falsetto "Whistle Registers" ever obtained by a recording artist. Even reaching the last B# at the near end of the piano hardly ever heard by music industry.
