Amanda Overmyer is the 11th-place finalist in American Idol 7. Her musical inspiration are from the rock legends of the '60s to the '80s.

American Idol contestant Amanda Lindsay Overmyer was born on October 26, 1984 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her father, CJ, served in the Air Force. As a little girl, she already had passion for singing. At a young age, Amanda joined the musical competitons like the 4-H talent contest and WAZY Idol. She found her heart in the tunes of Rock ‘N’ Roll. During her teen years, Amanda was the vocalist of a number of bands like Ruinaces and Steeleto. The Overmyer family has a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles. In 2002, she graduated at Delphi Community High School she enrolled to Ivy Tech Community College where she earned a degree in nursing. Being a full-time nurse Amanda auditioned for American Idol. While only ranking on 11th place in the reality show received great reviews. After being eliminated on American Idol, she had a number of guest appearances on talk shows and performed at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California. In 2008, Amanda released her debut singles “Love Me Like You Want”, “Play On”, Faight Like A Son” and Play On” was included in her debut album, Solidify.
