[edit] About

Singer and songwriter Amanda Marshall was born on August 29, 1972 in Toronto, Canada. At 17, Marshall knew that she wanted to make music a career. She was also part of the choir and school band. Marshall began playing the guitar on her own which she has grown to love. Marshall went to a club to meet Jeff Healey (Canadian musician) backstage. The two played on an open mic nigh. Healey was dumbfounded of her performance. She found bandmembers and began doing gigs in clubs. Healey invited Marshall to a U.S. Tour which led to Marshall signing with Epic Records. In 1995, her self-titled debut album went platinum. It was followed by the release of Tuesday’s Child in 1999 and Everybody’s Got a Story in 2001.

[edit] Reviews

  • Amanda Marshall is soulful and gritty. Her mellow songs are both sad and thoughtful. Marshall has a way with words that expresses a lot of beauty. --ericgo 08:00, 10 July 2009 (PST)
