About

Released on January 5, 2005, this album features collaborations with The Bird and the Bee’s Greg Kurstin, Greyboy Allstars bassist Chris Stillwell, and former Cake drummer Pete McNeal. Songs from the album received regular airplay at KCRW-FM. According to her, All Rise would not have happened were it not for the presence of producer ‘’’Michael Andrews,’’’ best known for composing the score of Donnie Darko, who co-wrote many of the tracks on the album. It starts slow with “Mistress.” It also includes an interpretation of Joe Jackson’s “Fools in Love,” a song that originally appeared on his debut Look Sharp. Inara’s godfather, Jackson Browne, also makes a guest appearance on “A Day.”
