[edit] About
The album was released on April 24, 2001 by Virgin Records debuting at number 1 for seven weeks in the Hot 100 Charts. At the same time, this album gave Janet Jackson her best debut sales week in his entire music career selling over 600,000 copies.
The album spawned four singles led by the album's title track "All For You" where it made history by being the first single ever to be added to every major format of radio on the day of its release. The song became Jackson's tenth number-one on the Billboard Hot 100. The next single released was "Someone to Call My Lover" which meant looking someone to be her boyfriend. During the song's time of recording she had just gottend divorced to her longtime husband, René Elizondo.
The controversial "Son of a Gun (I Betcha Think This Song Is About You)" followed after where she never confirmed nor denied rumor who the man she was referring in the song. But many critics say it was her ex-husband, René Elizondo which sued her for several million dollars. In response to the song, after Jackson married, James Taylor, René released a counterpart to the controversial song entitled "You're So Vain". After, "Come on Get Up" was released as the last single of the album.
