About
The band derived their name from thought. Nick Wheeler thought of the name, All-American, since they were all American, and Tyson thought of the name, The Rejects. So when they put it together, they got The All-American Rejects. They started out as duo (Ritter and Wheeler) then met Mike Kennerty and Chris Gaylor afterwards to complete the All American Rejects Line up.
They released their first independent album in 2000, and eventually built up a large fan base. They started touring and opening up shows for bands like The Flaming Lips and Caroline's Spine. In the summer of 2001, the Rejects released the EP Same Girl, New Songs and began to tour the American Midwest. By the tour's end, the band had signed a contract with Doghouse Records — the label of such bands as River City High and The Get Up Kids.
In 2002, the band teamed up with producer Tim O' Heir (Sebadoh, Superdrag, Come) and recorded their international album. Their long-time hit "Swing, swing" was included in the album which all thought that they would be a one-hit wonder, but then their self-titled album was released that same year.
Move Along was released in 2005. All was going well for the band until their keyboardist, Tim Jordan commited suicide. The Rejects were forced to cancel several concerts, including a full European tour, Jordan took his life after their tours. Their second single Move Along was released in January 2006. Within weeks since the release of the video, it hit TRL's countdown and has stayed in number one for days in a row. The video seemed to be a tribute to Jordan. In June 2006, the third single, "Top of the World", which appeared in the video game Burnout Revenge, was released. The song has a distinctive Spanish influence. The album also contains the track "Night Drive," which was featured in the video game Madden NFL 2006. In July 2006, the single "Move Along" was announced as the official WWE Diva Search 2006 theme song and is being used in advertisements for the Toa Inika figures of Lego's Bionicle franchise.
In 2006, the band toured around the US with Fall Out Boy, Hawthorne Heights, From First To Last, The Hush Sound, and October Fall in the Black Clouds and Underdogs Tour.

Reviews
No more with the one-hit wonder taglines for this band. The All -American Rejects have a made a name for themselves. It wasn't an easy road to follow, but they managed to get their band known. Their efforts are clearly seen in their albums and Tyson Ritter's breathy, screaming loud voice. Nick Wheeler's guitart fret work is not to be missed. The debut self-titled album was a surprise hit for everyone. I enjoyed listening to it while on the road. But I enjoyed their sophomore release more, with their carrier single Move Along, it was hard not to get the song ot of your head. I would rate the band 4 out of five stars. Not bad for newbies in the music industry. --Angelic biatch 05:27, 22 August 2006 (PDT)
