About
Layne Staley formed a band called, Alice N Chains while she was in high school. She met Jerry Cantrell at the Seattle rehearsal warehouse and that started it out. The groups start to work together and eventually changed their name into Alice in Chains. Jerry recruited his friends like Mike Starr for bass and Sean Kinney for drums to join the band.
The group signed a recording contract under Columbia Records in 1989. Soon, they released their first LP followed by their debut album, Facelift. The album went gold. Alice had released more follow up hit albums as of April 2003. As of now, the band is preparing to record a new album.
