[edit] About
Australian rock band Airbourne began on 2001 in Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia. Brother Ryan and Joel O’Keeffe grew up listening to ‘70s and ‘80s music albums which were stolen from their uncle. Their love for music grew and Joel began singing while Ryan was on lead guitar. While they were still in highschool, they would practice their loud music. Cops would occasionally show in their door steps due to their neighbor’s complaint.
When Joel O’Keeffe was working in a local pub, he met David Roads who later on became their second guitarist. It was when Justin Street who played bass joined them making Airbourne was complete. The band moved to Melbourne to play anywhere who welcomed them. In 2004, they financed their Ready to Rock album. In 2006, they landed a spot on the Big Day Out Festival. Capitol Records which was based on the United States released their debut album, Runnin’ Wild, in 2007. Unfortunately, they were discharged when Capitol was fused with Virgin Records. They signed in with Roadrunner Records who re-released Runnin’ Wild. Tracks from the album were included in the soundtrack of video games like Skate, NHL08 and Madden NFL08.
