[edit] About

Released in the United States on June 29, 2004 by Atlantic Records, Afrodisiac involves a number of personal and creative changes. Since the recording of Full Moon she was heavily preganant, broke up with her husband where she needs to cope up emotionally.

Despite all of those adversaries, the number single "Talk About Our Love" still managed to peak at number 36 in the U.S. Top 40 charts. The second single "Who Is She 2 U" peaked at number 78. Unfortunately, the single fell off the charts quickly and was considered a commercial failure. Though it was Certified Gold by RIAA. Not so long enough after the failure of "Who Is She 2 U", promotion for the Afrodisiac album ended and Brandy asked for and received a release from Atlantic in November 2004. Eventually, Brandy arranged a deal with Knockout Entertainment, owned by her younger brother Ray-J.

For the critics, Afrodisiac was still Brandy's most critically acclaimed album to date due to her notably deeper and richer vocals as compared in her previous albums. Both People and Rolling Stone rated Afrodisiac at four stars, with Rolling Stone comparing it to "Janet Jackson at her best.."
