A Tribe Called Quest is an American Hip-Hop group who rose to fame via their first single, "Description of A Fool".

A Tribe Called Quest was formed in 1988 by rapper/producer "Q-Tip", rapper "Phife Dawg", "DJ Alis Shaheed Muhammed" and "Jarobi White". Q-Tip and Phife are childhood friends in Queens where they also met DJ Ali in High School.
They released their first single, "Description of The Band" in 1989. In that same year, they signed a recording contract under Jive Records. After a year, they released their debut album, People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm. Their second album, Low End Theory was released in 1991. It was considered by many to be one of the most important hip-hop albums to date.
After two years, Their third album, Midnight Marauders was released. It was acclaimed as their best work. They released their final two albums, Beats, Rhymes and Life and The Love Movement in 1998 before they disbanded in 1999. Q-Tip and Phife went on to pursue solo careers while Muhammed formed a group called, Lucy Pearl.
The group was reunited in 2006 and had several sold-out concert tours in United States and Mexico.
