In the early seventies, three floors below the YWCA building in Sydney was The Cellar where PACT Folk got together to perform and revitalise contemporary folk music in Australia.

Released in 1972 3 Floors Down is a compilation album featuring twelve of the artist who regularly met at The Cellar. The album was produced at Copperfield Sound Studios in Sydney except for Season's Rain, Oldest Man Blues, Australia Square, Sunshine Strawberry which were recorded at Mike Eves Sound Studio at Paddington. Pity me was produced by John J. Francis. The album was released by RCA (and Marion Henderson appears by kind permission of MCA Australia).
