[edit] About

[edit] First Lineup

In 1999, Michelle and Tse Williams wanted to help their little sister Kiely achieve her aspirations in singing, so they formed the girl group 3LW, auditioning for girls and ending up with backup dancer Adrienne Bailon and music student Naturi Naughton. They were signed to Epic Records later that year, and began work on their self-titled debut. It was released in 2000, with two hit singles. They then began on a sophomore album, "Same Game, Different Rules", which was leaked to the internet and Epic considered dropping them. Fans protested however, and the act recorded a new album which was released in 2002. Tensions rose high however, and just weeks before the release of that album Naturi Naughton left the group. As a duo, Williams and Bailon released a holiday album, before auditioning for another girl, and eventually Jessica Benson joined replacing Naughton.

[edit] Final Lineup

At the end of 2002, 3LW left Epic Records and signed a dual contract with Sony and So So Def Records. They began work on their third album, however they went on hiatus as Bailon and Williams became involved with The Cheetah Girls.

In 2004 it was announced their third album would be titled, "Phoenix Rising", and Sony released a greatest hits album before dropping them from their roster. "Phoenix Rising" was delayed and in 2006 it was renamed, "Point of No Return", and then the lead single was released. The album however was delayed until it was shelved in 2007. They were then dropped from So So Def Records.

In early 2008, Benson announced the group had officially disbanded on good terms at the end of the previous year.
